What is Bead Blasting?

Bead blasting is a surface preparation and finishing process in which fine abrasive beads, typically made of glass or ceramic, are blasted at a metal surface under controlled pressure. The beads create a uniform texture on the surface, removing contaminants, oxidation, and imperfections while leaving behind a smooth, satin-like finish.

Unlike traditional sandblasting, which uses sand as an abrasive, bead blasting uses softer materials like glass beads, resulting in a less aggressive finish that doesn't harm or distort the underlying metal. This makes it ideal for applications where both aesthetics and functionality are important.
